Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye 7-piece collection
in sterling silver
With their curves and their rounded perfection, their gently reflective surfaces, and their pure convex silhouettes like inverted celestial domes, the six objects making up the Séléné collection, named for the Greek goddess of the moon, echo the magnetic beauty of our natural satellite.
Although Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye has traditionally turned her skills to ceramics, the sterling silver objects of her collection remain loyal to the round, hemispheric, moon-like silhouettes she has been fashioning for some six decades: their fresh curves emerged from a protracted process of research, a long accumulation of technical and cultural wisdom.
Available in three sizes, the objects making up the Séléné collection do not have, according to their designer’s will, a specific function or purpose. Thus, the bowls can hold chilled soups, keys, flowers, bread rolls or fruit, all with the same elegance. The vases are of course perfect for bouquets, or maybe paintbrushes ? With the telluric power they give forth, the solemn serenity they inspire, these six exceptional objects are perhaps sufficient on their own.
